BLACKPINK just broke a major record. The transnational girl group has achieved a major corner as the first all womanish K-pop group and third girl band to hold the acclaimed cover spot of Rolling Stone Magazine.

Previous to Lisa, Rosé, Jisoo, and Jennie commanding the cover, other iconic girl groups of the ‘ 90s and 2000s, like the Spice Girls and Fortune’s Child, also held the coveted spot. The cover story comes on the heels of last Friday’s news, in which Rolling Stone blazoned a mysterious “ special surprise ” related to the transnational sensation BLACKPINK that was coming soon.

In a now viral tweet, the publication left multiple cryptic plates that read, “#BLACKPINKxRollingStone. Coming soon, ” alongside several different transnational time zones and follow-up tweets that inferred a weeklong rollout. Suckers are presumed that the advertisement might not be a sanctioned musical comeback for BLACKPINK, but some kind of uninterrupted press collaboration for the girls to go alongside their cover.

Moment marks day one of the rollout, which includes the cover shoot and an exclusive interview with all four members. Within the interview, the girls open up about their dreams for themselves, including exploring their other bents beyond their assigned group places and the desire to no longer be boxed into one kidney.

During an intimate discussion at YG’s Headquarters in Seoul, Lisa tells journalist Haeryun Kang her studies girding the future of her career progression. “ Is hipsterism- hop the only thing I ’m good at? What if it turns out I ’m also good at traditional Thai Music?

Rosalia is so cool. She has her own Spanish culture, that’s inside her person, that influences her music … I ’m curious to know how important I can expand what I do. Music-wise, dance-wise, I feel like I still have to learn further. ” Also, Jisoo prodigies about staying for the right time for her to make her solo debut. She say on the magazine, “ I ’m not sure how important I want to go cooperatively yet.”

The music I hear to, the music I can do, and the music I want to do — what should I choose? I love songs with lots of instruments. I love different bands and gemstone music. What do people want from me? There’s a chaos of clashing questions. ” As all four members continue to consider their career circles and bandy what lies ahead, there’s no trustfulness that anyhow of their disquisition of colorful stripes, ways, and styles, yet indeed further success lies on their horizon.
